TRE® (Trauma Release Exercises) is simply a set of stress relieving exercises. The aim of TRE® is to get rid of tension from the body and bring it back into balance, so that all the systems in the body are working in harmony.
These innovative exercises were created by Dr. David Berceli to safely activate a natural reflex mechanism of shaking that releases muscular tension, calming down the nervous system. When this muscular shaking mechanism is activated in a safe and controlled environment, the body is encouraged to return back to a state of balance.

Learning TRE, and then taking time to practice TRE®, is one of the best investments you can make in your mental and physical wellness.
Once you have learnt the exercises, they become an important self help tool that you can practice on your own as well as in a group to help deal with stress and tension. It is good to attend regular group sessions to get feedback and support on your TRE® journey. Students who attend regular sessions report a deeper sense of calmness, well being and other positive changes within themselves.
A TRE® session is not just about learning how to do the exercises so that your body shakes, that is the easy part. It is also about how not to do the exercises, it’s about the breaths and pauses in between as well as the awareness of the movement. It’s learning to be fully in the body, and being ok with that. It’s an experience of getting to know the self.
Each time you do the exercises it is a unique experience. Even if you have experienced TRE® before I encourage you to come to the session with a curiosity, and expectation of just experiencing the body in that moment with awareness of just the way it is.
